Scotland Sketchbook Part 15

I bought a new pen while in St. Andrews... a juicy water soluble thing that I've never seen anywhere else.

Of course I had to try it out, so I played with it while people watching in an outdoor cafe.

I really LOVE this pen and the way it dissolves into such a lovely gray, yet keeps its line (at least on Strathmore 400 watercolor paper).

Scotland Sketchbook Part 14

Some architecture sketches from St. Andrews, Scotland.

Scotland Sketchbook Part 11

The Highland Coo!

Other than I wish some of these lived near where I live so I could draw them more, what else can be said?  They are magic.  And really fun to draw.  Even if you are standing in a horizontal driving rain and your fingers have gone numb from cold.

Scotland Sketchbook Part 10

Sketched these while hiking across Iona.  Sun, then sudden rain, then sun.

My favorite part is always sketching animals, but I really loved the cows free-ranging across the famous golf course.

We need more of that in the US of A.

Scotland Sketchbook Part 9

Travel from Oban to Iona, and impressions of some Iona architecture.  Some of this I drew while in a moving car!
